An Albany County Jail correctional officer is facing charges for allegedly raping a female inmate.
Michael Snyder, 59, is charged with three counts of rape and three for criminal sex act, plus lesser charges. Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says the arrest comes after a female inmate reported having sexual contact with Snyder three times over the past two weeks.
Sheriff's investigators collected evidence after the report, and turned it over to the New York state police lab.
Snyder, who pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, has been a corrections officer for 19 years.
