An early morning fire on Rugby Road in Schenectady is under investigation.
Fire officials say it broke out around 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the two-story, two family home. All the residents were out of the home by the time crews arrived at the scene.
Most of the damage is contained to the upper floor, near the roof. Crews remained on the scene for several hours making sure there weren't any hot spots.
Because this morning was so cold, crews laid down salt to keep firefighters from slipping.
Spectrum News is told no one was injured. The fire does not appear suspicious.
The home is a total loss and is expected to come down later today.
