New York's statewide COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to 1.00% on Saturday, the lowest since October 10, Governor Cuomo announced Sunday.

"While it may feel like our fight with COVID is over, it's important to remember 33 New Yorkers died yesterday. 33 families are grieving today," Governor Cuomo said in a statement. "Follow social distancing guidelines, adhere to safety protocols, and get vaccinated if you haven't already. If not for yourself, then for your fellow New Yorkers. Think of each other as we progress toward a healthier, safer New York."

The governor also announced that the state's seven-day average positivity has dropped to 1.13%, the lowest number since October 14. That marks 41 straight days of declining rates.

The 1,583 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is the lowest total since November 9, the 392 patients in an ICU is the lowest since November 15 and the 225 people intubated is the lowest number since November 20.

Cuomo also announced that 105,099 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered statewide over the past 24 hours. 841,164 doses have been administered in the state over the past seven days.

"The vaccine is the weapon that can win the war, and the faster everyone takes in, the faster we can continue to safely reopen our economy and get back to a new normal," Cuomo said in a statement. "We are continuing to work with community leaders and organizations to make the vaccine accessible to more New Yorkers, but we are seeing a lag in vaccinations and I remind everyone that we cannot get complacent with COVID. The vaccine is safe and effective, and the process is as seamless as it can be. You just have to show up at one of our sites across the state, roll up your sleeve, and help bring us a step closer to victory against the virus."
