Governor Cuomo on Monday outlined his priorities for the first 100 days of 2019.

When it comes to education, advocates want to see him heed the call of the board of regents and increase foundation aid by $2.1 billion. Groups like Alliance for Quality Education have been fighting with the governor over this and the Campaign for Fiscal Equality lawsuit.

"It's all a political game when we talk about education all too often," said Governor Cuomo.

"Too many distractions. The CFE lawsuit was resolved twelve years ago under George Pataki. The foundation aid program was stopped by Elliot Spitzer who started it in the firs place ten years ago. These are ghosts of the past and distractions from the present."

Jasmine Gripper, legislative director at AQE, responds.
