Tamani is an Emmy-nominated reporter, anchor, television host and producer with more than 10 years of experience in broadcast journalism. She started her broadcast career in New York City as an entertainment reporter covering movie premieres and conducting celebrity interviews. She also created her own successful “Steals and Deals” segment. Tamani transitioned into local news working as a freelance reporter at our sister station NY1 News.  In 2009, she helped launch FiOs1 News on Long Island and in New Jersey as their breaking news reporter and fill-in anchor. She also helped launch their weekly business news magazine show, Money and Mainstreet as a reporter. Tamani happily returned to NY1 in 2013 as an anchor/reporter before moving to Albany to join the upstate Spectrum News team.  She’s excited to be in the Capitol Region and getting to meet the many wonderful people in the community.

In her spare time, Tamani loves to be outdoors hiking, biking and being on the water.  She can’t wait to explore the many historical and tourist sites in upstate New York. Watching Scandal is her absolute weakness so no phone calls or breaking news on Thursday nights at 9, please. She loves animals and has a soft spot for puppies and kittens. In addition to animals, she also has a soft spot for cheesy 80’s pop music which she often sings around the newsroom. One of Tamani’s greatest joys is teaching as an adjunct professor helping to shape the next generation of journalists!

Tamani has been nominated for a New York Emmy for best News Magazine Show. Staying true to her theater roots, she won a Telly Award for her story on Broadway’s “How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical.” Tamani is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. A Delaware native, she graduated from the University of Delaware… go Blue Hens!!! and earned her master’s degree from Long Island University. She loves meeting viewers so feel free to say hi when she’s out and about.
