She came to us from WBAL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore where she was the weekend anchor for their top-rated newscast.

She has covered presidential politics from Washington, D.C., anchored live as major hurricanes slammed the east coast, and interviewed well-known figures in news and sports, including Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. In addition to anchoring, she was a WBAL general assignment reporter.

Julie also worked weekly with Johns Hopkins Hospital on award winning health reports for NBC News Channel. Prior to Baltimore, Julie worked as an anchor/reporter at WBNG-TV and WICZ-TV in her hometown of Binghamton, and she started her career at WENY-TV in Elmira. Julie has won numerous awards over the years from the Associated Press, Syracuse Press Club, and the NYS Broadcasters Association for excellence in reporting live breaking news and her in-depth special reports.

Julie is a graduate of SUNY Cortland where she was honored for excellence in broadcast journalism and television production. She also developed and taught a broadcast journalism curriculum at the New School of Radio and Television in Albany.

Many charitable causes are close to her heart. Julie works as the emcee for a number of fundraising events for community organizations such as Girls Inc., Fact-To-Film Festival, Capital District Boys and Girls Club, and the Festival of Nations Diversity Celebration. She has also helped introduce girls to STEM careers through our Connect a Million Minds initiative.

Family is extremely important to her and that's what brought her back to Upstate New York. Julie, her husband, and their two children are happy living close to home.
