Cleanup continues from the feet of snow that fell over the Southern Tier and Buffalo Southtowns over the weekend.
The National Weather Service reports 54 inches fell in Cassadaga over the last four days — the most in the region. Parts of Buffalo got up to a foot, while the airport only saw a little more than an inch of snow.
The NWS is calling for additional accumulations of another 12 to 24 inches through Tuesday evening across Chautauqua County and western Cattaraugus County. In Erie County, the service says another 3 to 6 inches may fall before the lake effect snow warning there expires at 7 p.m.
Travel restrictions are being relaxed on many roadways on Monday. Commercial vehicles can now resume travel on I-86, State Route 219 and the Thruway.
Meanwhile, the city of Buffalo is putting rules in place to help keep roads clear this winter.
The city says overnight parking on bus routes will be prohibited from 1:30 to 7 a.m. and daytime parking will be no longer allowed on side streets with seasonal alternate parking rules. The winter parking rules will remain in effect until April 1.
