SANBORN, N.Y. — If you're looking to enjoy the outdoors with the family before the summer comes to close, a trip to Niagara County and the Sunflowers of Sanborn could be a fun option.
It's been open to the public for five years and there is so much to do and see. Of course, there are sunflowers and they are beautiful this time of year. You can take pictures and walk along the trails. There are 20 different varieties and some of them are 15 feet to 18 feet tall. You can also pick your own and bring them home.
There are also hay wagon rides. New this year, you can check out the apple cannon sunflower smasher. Plus, there are rubber duck races and so much more.
"They say it's a little slice of heaven," said owner Louise Brachmann. "Basically, we're kind of known as the happy place. So for people to come out here, this is your kind of bright, cheery place to kind of just relax, unwind and kind of let go from everyday struggles."
Sunflowers of Sanborn is open from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., but there is only about a week to go. It closes for the season on September 6.
