HAMBURG, N.Y. — The Erie County Fair continues this week and Wednesday marks day eight of the 12 best days of summer.

The "Fire Guy" holds the Guinness world record for swallowing the most torches at 101. Now he's at the Erie County Fair and his energy is infectious.

Brant Matthews rides a Onewheel while juggling and tossing flaming torches. And if that's not impressive enough, he even eats them.

It's an art that he says took years for him to master.

"I thought, 'you know what, I'm going to go out in the street and juggle some devil sticks,' and I went out there and juggled it and no one really cared," said Matthews. "And then I found out there was a fire devil stick out there. So I went out and I started juggling fire and people started paying attention. But you see, the bit only lasts a couple of minutes so I was like, 'well what am I going to do? Well, I might as well learn to eat the fire.' And then I learned how to eat the fire. And then I learned how to juggle some more fire. And then people started calling me Fire Guy!”

If you come to see him in person, you'll definitely feel the heat. It's an exciting act for people of all ages.

You can find him daily outside the historical building near Slade Park at 12:34 p.m. and 7 p.m.
