We know the Buffalo Bills have fans all over the world and Bills Mafia always travels well to see their team play — but one fan has taken that to the next level.

Keita Nakagawa made the trek from Tokyo, Japan to Orchard Park to see his favorite team in person.

"It has been my long-awaited dream to make it to Buffalo," he said.

Keita bit into his first Buffalo-style chicken wing smothered in blue cheese dressing last Saturday at Prohibition 2020 in Orchard Park.

"Today I finally had very, very delicious chicken wings. It is my real first time. How delicious they were," he said.

It was a weekend of firsts for Keita Nakagawa — his first visit to the United States and first trip to Buffalo to see his beloved Bills play at Highmark Stadium.

Keita has been a Bills fan for decades, rooting them on through the Super Bowl years ago to the present. It’s no coincidence his favorite Japanese pro baseball team is called the Buffaloes.

"Buffalo Bills games are always exciting, win or lose. Very big dramatic game so I fell in love with the Bills. Their game is so heroic and dramatic," he said.

Keita and his traveling companion, Hojung, journeyed to Western New York where host families showed them around the region, including Joleen and Andy Tatar.

Dressed in a Bills-colored kimono and traditional Japanese sandals, he met hundreds of fellow fans who he’s become friends with on the Bills Mafia Facebook page, welcoming him to the City of Good Neighbors with open arms and bearing gifts.

"It was my biggest dream to meet them in person actually. This trip made my dream and hope come true," he said.

You know Bills fans are up for a party, so Keita and Hojung joined in Saturday night at Prohibition 2020, hitting the dance floor to become the stars of the show.

Sunday was tailgating time, where fellow fans greeted him every step of the way in the streets and parking lots surrounding the stadium.

And that meant a trip to the famed Hammer’s Lot, complete with Keita dousing the Bills super fan Ken "Pinto Ron" Johnson in his customary ketchup and mustard pregame ritual.

"I was very, very honored to spray mustard and ketchup on our forever hero, Mr. Ron Pinto. It was a very, very honorable moment to me," Keita said.

Then came the main event — Bills vs. Dolphins — where Keita witnessed a Buffalo-style beatdown of Miami in a 48-20 victory over the previously unbeaten rivals.

"The game was awesome. Very, very wonderful and beautiful. Our team’s greatest triumph," he said.

Keita visited many famous landmarks while he was in Western New York, including Canalside, Buffalo City Hall and Niagara Falls, and even took time to pray in front of the Tops grocery store where 10 people were murdered last year in a racist attack.

It was the trip of a lifetime, filled with memories and friendships he’ll take back across the world.

"Visiting Buffalo and cheering on our team at the stadium has been my biggest bucket list in my life. And fortunately, I could achieve the biggest dream," he said.
