Former Bills star Steve Tasker has been named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024.

The special teams player played most of his 13 seasons with Buffalo in the late 1980s and 90s. He earned seven Pro Bowl nods and appeared in four Super Bowls with the Bills.

Tasker was a standout in kick and punt coverage, racking up 204 career special teams tackles and seven blocked punts.

He was named to the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.

Tasker is one of 31 senior player semifinalists, with 29 coaches and contributors also up for consideration.

Selection committees will consider the candidates and 12 figures from both the senior and coach/contributors categories will move on to the next round of voting, with results announced in late July. The final three candidates among the senior players will be announced in late August.
