Florida's Kyle Pitts is the unquestioned top talent at the tight end position in this draft class.

Most also believe Penn State's Pat Freiermuth is next in line.

Freiermuth caught 92 receptions for 1,185 yards and 16 touchdown grabs in 30 career games for the Nittany Lions. Those 16 receiving TDs passing Mike Gesicki's school-record for most by a TE.

This past season he was the Big Ten TE of the Year despite only playing four games, two of which he played with a shoulder injury. Ultimately, Freiermuth shutting it down in late November and having shoulder surgery. Because of that, he did not take part in any testing during Penn State's Pro Day, however he did catch passes.

"I'm 2-3 weeks from being able to be full-go, cleared for full contact and all that," Freiermuth said a few weeks ago at his Pro Day. "The process has gone really smooth. I'm actually ahead of my original date time to be cleared. So I've really attacked my rehab and gotten better on that end."

When healthy, Freiermuth is a big, athletic TE at 6'5" and 251 pounds. The size and skill combination has had some throw out the nickname "Baby Gronk," though Freiermuth isn't a fan of it.

But at the next level, he may be used similiar Rob Gronkowski.

"Consensus is I'm going to be that move tight end," Freiermuth said. "Most of the teams that are talking to me want at their F tight end, move me around the ball. They feel very comfortable in 11 personnel and obviously 12, still putting me at the Y. That shows that they think I'm versatile, but mainly they see me at that F. They kind of told me they wanted me to drop a little weight, so I think I weighed in at  251-252. That's probably where I'm going to play at my rookie season, depending on where I go."

Freiermuth is likely a late 1st to 2nd round selection.
