BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo's McKinley High School is updating its dismissal procedures in response to a violent incident on Tuesday.
Police say they are investigating several fights that happened during dismissal. They also say a 16-year-old student is facing charges of obstruction and resisting arrest in connection with one of those fights.
According to Buffalo Public Schools, the students involved skipped getting onto their buses and went over to the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Amherst Street where multiple fights then broke out.
The district says it is working to identify all of the students involved and disciplinary action will be taken.
As part of the new dismissal policy, any student approved for busing is expected to get on their assigned bus in front of the school immediately at the end of the school day.
