Buffalo's school zones speed cameras are live again as of Monday due to the reopening of schools across the city.
Drivers will not be issued citations during this initial adjustment period, which runs through February.
Officials say this will give people ample time to adapt to the speed limits which haven't been in effect for almost a year.
Flashing beacons will warn drivers but citations will not be issued until March.
Speed is reduced to 15 mph in these zones to protect students and in effect for the hours listed on the signs.
The cameras are active in the following school zones:
- Canisius High School
- Nichols School
- Notre Dame Academy
- St. Joseph University
- Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Children’s Academy
