A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate the actions of two Buffalo police officers during the arrest of Quentin Suttles.
A notice of claim was filed against the Buffalo Police Department after Suttles said he was beaten by officers.
Suttles' attorney says Suttles sustained serious injuries including a fractured right shoulder and right eye socket.
The Erie County District Attorney's Office says it is prosecuting Suttles in several other cases, including on a weapons charge from last fall.
An assistant DA is also a potential witness.
The Monroe County District Attorney's Office will now review the case.
