A notice of claim has been filed against the Buffalo Police Department by a man who says he was beaten by officers during a traffic stop back in May.

Quentin Suttles’ attorneys, Ramos & Ramos, released edited body camera footage of the night.

In the body cam footage, one can see Suttles being searched by the officer. The incident happened near Eagle and Madison Street.

The incident, which was also captured on cell phone video, shows an officer hitting Suttles while holding him to the ground.

The claim says that the officers used excessive force and brutally beat Suttles when they pulled him over and arrested him. It says Suttles sustained serious injuries, including a fractured right shoulder and right eye socket.

The claim alleges the officers waited until the following day to obtain medical treatment.

The cell phone video prompted an internal investigation by the police department.
