The man charged with throwing a flaming basket into Buffalo City Hall is now under home confinement.
Courtland Renford's attorney tells Spectrum News a judge ordered his release after posting bond.
Renford is charged with arson affecting a building used in interstate commerce. That's a federal crime that carries a penalty between five and 20 years in prison.
It happened during protests on May 30th that turned violent.
If authorities want Renford back in jail, they have until Friday at 5 p.m. to ask a higher court review the judge's decision.
