The former owner of an abused dog in North Tonawanda learned his fate Thursday.
Joseph Barwick was sentenced to 60 days in jail plus three years probation.
He was charged earlier this year after police found a malnourished dog originally named Sam Sam.
After spending time at Green Acres Animal Hospital, the pup now named Sophie was adopted into a new home.
