Cheektowaga Police are investigating an assault that has now turned deadly.
Richard Valenti, 65, of Lancaster was found in the back seat of his car at Harlem Road and Creekside on May 15.
Police received a 911 call around 8 p.m. that night for a welfare check.
Valenti was taken to ECMC where he died from injuries later that night.

A judge has ordered both sides to meet with a mediator and continue mediation next week in order to keep the pre-trial process on track.
The suit claims that the owners' negligence led to unsafe standards and ultimately the death of 65-year-old Harshad Shah.
In a statement, officials from Paul William Beltz said demolition is underway and will continue over the coming weeks.
Buildings on both sides of the church were evacuated as a precaution.
