Seven candidates have filed petitions to officially be on the ballot for Buffalo mayor.

The candidates include Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon, state Sen. Sean Ryan, Buffalo Common Council member Rasheed Wyatt and former Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield.

They're all running on the Democratic line, along with ReUse Action President Michael Gainer and political activist Anthony Tyson Thompson.

James Gardner, a former law clerk and assistant district attorney, is running on the Republican line.

Primary day in Buffalo is Tuesday, June 24.
