BUFFALO, N.Y. — Mark Poloncarz announced on Thursday that he will be seeking another term as Erie County Executive.

The incumbent county executive released a campaign kickoff video that touted what he says are his accomplishments in office.

Poloncarz highlighted his family ties to the community, the progress and growth he says the county has experienced under his leadership, the new 30-year Buffalo Bills stadium agreement and more.

"I could not be prouder of our history and all the accomplishments we have achieved together," said Poloncarz. "Because of the hard work of many, our population is growing, we are attracting more businesses and well-paying jobs to Western New York, made historic investments to improve our roads and bridges, and increased funding for libraries, parks and public safety. While doing all of this, we have reduced the property tax rate to its lowest ever and secured a new home for the Buffalo Bills with a state-of-the-art stadium headed our way.”

"But I am not stopping there," Poloncarz added. "I have already launched my 'prosperity plan' to ensure everyone benefits from our renaissance by continuing to make things better and our communities stronger. Let’s write our next historic chapter, together.”

Former Grand Island town supervisor and Western New York Democratic congressional candidate Nate McMurray announced his bid for Erie County executive at the beginning of February.
