Erie County GOP chairman Nick Langworthy is set to lead the party statewide, and he's asking local Republicans for their support.
Langworthy was back in Western New York Wednesday for a fundraiser at Salvatore's Italian Gardens on Transit Road.
That came just days after securing enough support to become the next chair of the state Republican Party.
When Langworthy takes over in July he'll be the first chairman from Buffalo since 1944.
"It allows me to advocate for the needs of Western New York, the voices of Western New York tax payers and common sense for the taxpayers and I can do that from a much higher perch across the State of New York,” Langworthy said.
He said his immediate goal is to take back control of the state Senate and eventually the governor's office.
