Betty Jean Grant will not be on the June primary ballot for the Erie County Legislature's District 2 seat, according to the Erie County Board of Elections.

The BOE says Grant's designating petition included some signatures that were ruled invalid by board commissioners.

Grant will now have to wait until the general election to be on the ballot.

She is petitioning to be on an independent Restore Buffalo party line in November.

Grant previously held the seat from 2007 to 2017. She was also a candidate for Buffalo mayor in 2017, but was defeated in the primary election by Byron Brown.

She will be running against incumbent Taisha St. Jean Tard.

The primary election is on June 24.
