The Northwest Jazz Festival, which takes place Aug. 22-23 on Center Street in Lewiston, has announced their 2025 lineup. The event is the largest free outdoor jazz festival in the region.
On Friday, Aug. 22, the Dan Wilson Organ Trio will perform, as will Matt’s Music Vocal Performance Team, Fredtown Stompers, My Cousin Toné and more.
"This year’s festival embodies the spirit of tradition that defines jazz. We are proud to bring together such an exceptional array of talent that honors our musical roots while paving the way for the next generation. It is a celebration of our community's passion for live music," Carol Calato, chairperson of the Board of Directors, said.
Then, on Saturday, Aug. 23, Tony Monaco’s House Party will perform, as will trumpeter and vocalist Jumaane Smith, who will lead an ensemble in a Celebration of Louis Armstrong and the Spirit of Swing to mark the 100th anniversary of Louis Armstrong’s Hot Five’s first historic performance. Also set to peform are Hot Club of Buffalo, Paradigm Shift Jazz, Vibrant Strings and UB Zodiaque Dance Company.
