Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will play in Saturday's preseason opener on Saturday against the Chicago Bears, head coach Sean McDermott said Thursday.

McDermott says Allen and the rest of the first team will play roughly a quarter.

The Bills quarterback led the NFL in total touchdowns in 2023, and is the only quarterback in NFL history with more than 40 touchdowns in four consecutive seasons. He threw for 4,306 yards and 29 touchdowns, adding 524 rushing yards and another 15 touchdowns.

The Bills will host the Bears at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Aug. 10 at 1 p.m.
