The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) has announced the return of the Parks Adventure Bus, which provides free rides every Saturday to local parks and beaches around western New York.

The bus will provide serivce to a number of area parks, including Chestnut Ridge Park, Fort Niagara State Park, Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve, Como Lake Park, Beaver Island State Park, Akron Falls Park, Evangola State Park and Emery County Park.

Service will begin June 8 and every Saturday through August 3, with a possible make-up day on Saturday, August 17, departing from the bus station in downtown Buffalo (181 Ellicott Street).

"Last year, the NFTA saw a 22% increase in the usage of their Park Adventure Bus from 2022, and I’m proud that the service is returning this year to serve our community members who may not have access to our beautiful County parks otherwise," said Erie County Legislature Chairwoman April N.M. Baskin. “Our parks should be accessible to everyone in our community, and it takes intentional steps like the one the NFTA is making with the Park Adventure Bus service to ensure accessibility exists.”
