A tentative deal has been reached between 1199SEIU health care workers and four Absolute Care facilities in Western New York.

This comes after it was announced on Wednesday that strikes were averted at the nursing homes in Allegany, East Aurora, Orchard Park and Westfield. Caregivers at Absolut Care and RCA Management came to the negotiating table saying the strikes were postponed in an effort to reach an agreement.

RCA Healthcare Management/Absolut Care released a statement on Thursday, saying in part:

"This is a comprehensive two-year contract agreement for the esteemed Long-Term Care and Assisted Living staff. This contract serves as a testament to our dedication to providing exceptional care and support to those we serve. We extend our sincere gratitude to our employees and stakeholders."

The around 300 employees will now get the chance to ratify the contract sometime next week. Terms of the deal will not be made available until it is ratified.

The most recent contract with workers expired at the end of April.
