A push to make sure people in the city of Buffalo have clean drinking water is continuing as Buffalo Water is asking people to take a survey on the service lines found in their homes.
The group made a service line inventory map available online last year. It is an active map of known and unknown lead service lines across the city.
"Clean and safe drinking water plays a critical role in our daily lives," said Buffalo Water Board Chair Oluwole "OJ" McFoy. "Last year, Buffalo Water became one of the first utilities in New York State to release an inventory map nearly a year in advance so residents could see the number of unknown and lead service lines in Buffalo for themselves and provide necessary information to help Buffalo Water locate and address them. Residents, whether they are homeowners or renters, should participate in the service line survey, explore the service line inventory map, and follow the EPA's recommendations to ensure the continued safety of our drinking water."
The survey can be found here.
