A section of the I-90 East is set to close Friday night for emergency bridge repairs.
The closure will begin at 5 p.m. between the Westfield - Mayville exit and the Dunkirk Fredonia exit. It will allow crews to safely remove a severely damaged portion of the North Road Overpass.
The overpass has been hit by trucks at least three times this year.
Eastbound drivers on the thruway will be diverted to Route 20.
The road is scheduled to reopen Saturday morning at 7 a.m.
