The first structural steel beam has been set at the Buffalo Bills new stadium in Orchard Park. Construction crews placed the beam Friday.
This marks the completion of excavation seven months after breaking ground in June 2023. Steel will be built in tiers over the next 12-14 months.
The project has been estimated to cost $1.4 billion, but a recent AP report says it could come closer to $1.7 billion. The team is responsible for all cost overruns.
The new 60,000-seat facility was designed by the Bills along with Legends Hospitality and the architectural firm Populous.
The new stadium is expected to open for the 2026 season.
