The Buffalo Sabres have loaned goaltender Devon Levi to the Rochester Americans, the team announced on Tuesday.

Levi, 21, has appeared in nine games this season, putting up a 3.73 goals against average (GAA) and .876 save percentage.

The move is expected to give the highly-touted prospect more playing time, as the Sabres will now roll with a goaltending tandem of Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Eric Comrie.

After a big win Monday night against the New York Rangers, Sabres head coach Don Granato said he will be giving Luukkonen more time in the crease.

Luukkonen, 24, has been on a tear in the second half of the month, going 3-0-1 in his last five games. He has a 2.54 GAA and a .918 save percentage so far this season.

The Sabres next play Thursday against the St. Louis Blues, while the Amerks play back-to-back road games against the Belleville Senators Friday and Saturday.
