Mark Poloncarz is the projected winner in the race for Erie County Executive, according to the Associated Press.
The incumbent would become the first county executive in Erie County’s history to serve a fourth term.
“Today, the people of Erie County have spoken about the direction they want our community to go,” Poloncarz said in a speech Tuesday night. “Thank you to all who believed in our message in moving Erie County forward.”
The Democrat, who gathered roughly 58.7% of the vote, is projected to defeat Republican communications specialist Chrissy Casilio and Libertarian challenger Duane Whitmer.
Poloncarz has been in office since 2012.
