The Buffalo Sabres continue to trim their roster ahead of next week’s season opener, assigning forwards Jiri Kulich and Isak Rosen to the Rochester Americans on Wednesday.
Forward Brett Murray was also assigned to the Amerks, pending waiver clearance.
The Sabres notably still have forward Zach Benson, the team’s first-round selection in the 2023 NHL Draft, on the roster. So far in the preseason, he has been playing on the team’s first line with center Tage Thompson and winger Jeff Skinner.
Kulich and Rosen, also previous first-round selections of the Sabres, were both standout rookies in the AHL with the Amerks last year. Kulich broke the AHL record for most goals scored as an 18-year-old.
Murray, 25, has bounced back and forth between Rochester and Buffalo throughout his professional career.
The Sabres open their season at home against the New York Rangers on Oct. 12.
