The Sabres are making a splash during NHL free agency, enlisting some defensive help for the upcoming season.
The team upgraded their blue line by signing Connor Clifton to a 3-year, $10 million contract. He played with the Bruins last year, racking up 23 points in 78 games.
The 28-year-old previously played under head coach Don Granato on the U.S. development team.
The Sabres also signed veteran defenseman Erik Johnson to a one-year deal.
Johnson was the first overall pick back in 2006, and helped lead the Colorado Avalanche to the 2022 Stanley Cup. His contract is worth $3.25 million.
