DARIEN CENTER, N.Y. ─ Six Flags Darien Lake has announced plans to open for the year on May 20.

For the new season, the theme park is promising "new events and park enhancements to provide a memorable and premium park experience," including a new laser light show, Laser Light Summerfest, Viva La Fiesta, live entertainment featuring dancers, July 4^th Fireworks Celebration, and Oktoberfest, as well as a new VIP Lounge, updated landscaping, additional seating throughout the park, more photo opportunities, midway upgrades, new food options and more.

“Opening day is the beginning of another year of fun at Six Flags Darien Lake,” said Park President Chris Thorpe. “As New York’s largest family-friendly destination, guests will enjoy their favorite rides and slides with a lineup of new and elevated events and experiences plus comfort enhancements including a new VIP Lounge.”

Six Flags Darien Lake operates weekends and select days May 20 through June 23, followed by daily summer operation through Labor Day. The park will not operate on Tuesdays.
