Alex Tuch has been named as the Buffalo Sabres nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the player who exemplifies leadership on and off the ice.

He one of 32 nominees. The winner, who will be chosen next month, receives a $25,000 donation to a charity of their choice. Two runners-up each will receive a $5,000 donation to benefit a charity or charities of their choice.

Tuch's AT9 foundation assists kids facing challenges with a special focus on research to end childhood cancer. Has also been part of a number of community events since joining the Sabres.

On the ice, the Syracuse native with a career year posting 36 goals in 74 games.
