Starting in March, CPR training kits will be available to check out at Erie County libraries.

This is all made possible thanks to a partnership between Buffalo and Erie County Public Libraries, Highmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Western New York, Lawley Insurance, the American Heart Association and the Buffalo Bills Foundation.

"We're going to be offering CPR training kits to the public for borrowing,” said Library Director John Spears. “So just as someone would check out a library book, they can now check out a CPR kit."

After the on-field incident involving Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, officials want to make sure community members are prepared and able to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency.
