BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new banking innovation is set to help bring essential services to undeserved communities in Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
Bank On Buffalo’s new 'Bank on Wheels', a 34-foot long, 23,000 pound full-service mobile banking unit, will operate similarly to their brick-and-mortar location with teller windows, a walk-up ATM and an indoor lobby and office.
People will be able to do a lot, like open accounts, make deposits and cash checks.
"When you think about what we founded our bank on, it's a community bank from day one,” BankOnBuffalo President Mike Noah said. “We've come in here talking about community, stressing community, being part of the community, and trying to help this community grow and get better, and because of that we now got an opportunity with the BankOnWheels to continue that program and process."
You can find 'Bank on Wheels' at the Doris Jones Community Resource Center in Niagara Falls Monday, The Renovation Church in Buffalo Tuesday and the Peter Machnica Community center in Buffalo Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each of those days.
