SUNY Erie Community College and ECMC are teaming up to support current and future nursing students.

The main goal of the partnership is to address the shortage of nurses in Western New York, giving students financial and educational support.

It also guarantees employment after graduation.

"The great advantage here is that they're gonna have a committed clinical seat, they're gonna have access to 1,500 in lasting scholarships," David Balkin, president of SUNY Erie Community College, said.

Admission will depend on GPAs and scores from health education system entrance exams.

ECC faculty and qualified full-time ECMC nursing employees will be teaching the students.
