Buffalo Bills and Sabres co-owner Kim Pegula is "progressing well" and "resting and rehabilitating" from a health issue, according to a statement released by the Pegula family Tuesday.

The update comes two weeks after Pegula Sports and Entertainment announced Kim was battling an unspecified health issue.

The 53-year-old is the first woman president of both an NFL and NHL team. Kim is the wife of Terry Pegula, who together purchased the Sabres in 2011 and Bills in 2014, after selling his natural gas drilling rights to Royal Dutch Shell for $4.7 billion. At the time, the Pegulas $1.4 billion purchase of the Bills was a record price.

Kim Pegula is president of both teams and is on various committees, including the NFL’s workplace diversity committee and the NHL’s executive inclusion council.
