LOCKPORT, N.Y. — An AMBER Alert issued by police for a 10-month-old girl believed to have been taken unlawfully by her father in Lockport has now been canceled and the child has been reunited with her mother.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says the child's father, Anthones D. Mullen Jr, 37, unlawfully entered an apartment on Sweetwood Drive before 8 a.m. and removed 10-month-old Royalty Mullen.
According to police, Mullen Jr left with the child in a vehicle. Police later located the vehicle unoccupied in the Woodlands Manufactured Home Community in the town of Lockport.
After an AMBER Alert was issued at 11:44 a.m., the BPD says police called off patrols after the child was received unharmed from a relative of the suspect and has since been reunited with her mother.
The alert was canceled at 2:20 p.m.
Police say Mullen Jr is still being sought in connection with this incident. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Investigator Keith Hetrick at (716) 438-3335 or the NCSO Communications Center at (716) 438-3393.
