BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Community Fridge, which is a network of fridges across the city, has gotten a lot of support to ensure no one goes hungry as the Tops store on Jefferson Avenue remains closed.

However, there is still a dire need for certain items.

Organizers say in addition to fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy products, there's a high demand for laundry, cleaning supplies, baby wipes and diapers. Toilet paper and towels are needed as well.

People are asked to not drop off in bulk or packages and to safely stock items in the fridge or pantry.

If the fridge at 257 East Ferry Street is full, consider donating to the community fridge at 347 East Ferry Street. That is hosted by the Western New York Resource Council and the group Rooted in Love.

There are two additional fridges, one on Jewett Avenue and the other on Herkimer Street.
