BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site takes you through the events leading up to William McKinley’s assassination and Roosevelt’s rise to power.

There’s a number of interactive exhibits and historic rooms including the actual floor Roosevelt stood on when he took the oath of office after McKinley died.

This upcoming Presidents’ Day, you can see that and all the others for 50% off admission. Find out how Roosevelt dealt with issues that we still face today, learn about the history of the house itself, which used to be barracks, a restaurant and even a private home.

Or just picture what it was like here more than 100 years ago.

“You can almost reach out and touch the area where Roosevelt actually stood 120 years ago, and was sworn into office as what turned out to be one of our most consequential precedents,” said Stanton Hudson Jr., executive director of the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site.
