The snow began falling Sunday night and kept going through Monday. It piled up quickly in Western New York, especially in places like Kenmore and Lockport.

The widespread system that wreaked havoc across the state has finally exited the area. That snow, however, has been replaced with lake-effect snow on Tuesday. It won't be nearly as intense as the snow on Monday.
