BUFFALO, N.Y. — Weather conditions in Western New York are having an impact on travel.

Wind and lake-effect snow will cause difficult travel conditions Thursday for the Buffalo and Watertown areas. Rochester to Syracuse can expect to see some impacts Friday morning.

The weather appears to be impacting flights at the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport. A large number of both departures and arrivals have been cancelled.

The lake-effect snow began late Wednesday night and took a while to get going. However, on Thursday, strong lake-effect bands developed and began dumping snow across the region.
