BUFFALO, N.Y. — ECMC is suspending inpatient visitation starting Friday, Dec. 31 due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the region.
The restrictions will be in place to protect patients and caregivers from being exposed to COVID, according to ECMC.
The only exceptions will be made for those in imminent end-of-life circumstances or when medically necessary. Visitors meeting those exceptions will be required to wear a hospital grade face mask and undergo a health screening.
Patients and their families are encouraged to communicate via phone calls or FaceTime while visitation is suspended. ECMC says it will assist patients who do not have personal devices with that technology.
