CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Cheektowaga Police say multiple fights broke out at the Walden Galleria on Sunday evening.

Police say two juveniles were arrested in separate incidents, while others were ejected from the mall or were held until picked up by a parent or guardian. Police did not provide any other information about the arrests.

Police say they also investigated reports of a shot fired from the level 5 parking ramp, but did not find any evidence.

There were no injuries reported and the mall closed at 7 p.m. as scheduled, according to police.

Due to the incident, the mall's parental escort policy — which requires guests under the age of 18 to be accompanied by an adult — is now in effect until Dec. 30.

Walden Galleria management sent a statement to Spectrum News 1, saying in part:

"Our goal is to ensure that all guests have a continuous, safe and enjoyable shopping, dining and entertainment experience. It’s why we have comprehensive safety protocols, and why we regularly assess them to make sure we’re consistent with other major retail complexes around the country.

"We’re thankful for the tireless efforts by our security team, community partners and local law enforcement agencies that make Walden Galleria a year-round family-friendly destination."
