NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Authorities have positively identified a body recovered from the Niagara River as that of a teen who disappeared in the water earlier this week.
State Park Police say the body of Kameron Stenzel, 15, was found Thursday.
They say he accidentally fell into the river near Whirlpool State Park at the Lower Gorge Trail on Monday morning.
When he didn't resurface, police coordinated a multi-agency search, which then turned to a recovery effort.
State Park Police say it was an accident with no signs of foul play.
They urge people to be careful and stay on the trails when they go to the gorge because it can be dangerous near the river.
