BUFFALO, N.Y. — The ribbon was officially cut Friday on Provisions 139. It’s a market-style food pantry located on Vermont Street in Buffalo run by West Side Community Services.
Officials say they have seen a substantial increase in food insecurity since the start of the pandemic.
The food pantry will have locally grown fruits and vegetables. There are also plans to offer health and wellness classes in the coming months.
"Provisons 139 is not just a food distribution site, it is a place for our community to gather and to celebrate the many unique cultural contributions that our west side neighbors has to offer," West Side Community Services Executive Director Crystal Selk said.
Right now, the food pantry will be open on Wednesdays from 2 – 4 p.m.
