BUFFALO, N.Y. — Anyone who has ever put together a piece of furniture knows it's easier to do with a friend. And if you're building 50 beds, having about 200 friends will come in handy.

The Buffalo chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace — Bunks Across America will do just that on Saturday. The beds will go to local kids in need. The group says about 10,000 kids in the area don't have a bed.

Volunteers will meet at the Eastern Hills Mall from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Head to the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Facebook page to sign up.
